Whimzeekinz Story

In a town long, long ago....er...sorry, wrong story.   Let me try again.

Whimzeekinz came to be in the mind of me, Darice Ratliff, probably 20 years or more ago.  Actually, now thinkin' about it....as far back as 6th grade (sheesh, now we're going back a LOT further) my mind would often drift in class imagining a itty bitty person that I could bring to school in my backpack or even pocket that no one would know about.  A little companion?  Someone to do my homework?  Maybe.  Ummm... weird?  Yup. These lil' people didn't necessarily have wings yet but the concept was there.  They were so vivid in my mind but yet I wasn't able to get them even drawn on paper although I've tried many times.  Later, frustrated and wanting this to become a reality and praying about it, the pictures finally flowed from concept to actualizing on paper. 

Each sketch has been from baby pictures and their poses, most of them being my own kiddoz, but many a relative or friend's babies as well.  The figurines were then sculpted by me in clay, dried and fired in my kiln.  After repeated trials and error, each pose eventually came to life.  The figurines are resin cast in silicone molds.  Every step from concept to casting to handpainting and packaging is done at Whimzeekinz home studio in an amazing lil' mountain town in Idaho in the good ol' United States of America.   It's been a long time dreamin' and a long time comin' to NOW!  I sincerely hope you LOVE them as much as I LOVE creating them for those who are meant to love them!!!   Inspiration  Joy  Love  Giddiness Galore
